BroadcastAsia2017 Show Review

Spanning across 3 levels of Suntec Singapore, BroadcastAsia2017 concluded successfully over the 3-day event from 23 – 25 May. Trade attendees from the broadcasting and digital multimedia industries saw a wide range of innovations and took part in a plethora of value-added activities at the show floor which allowed them to bring away knowledge and insights from experts.

Held concurrently with CommunicAsia and EnterpriseIT2017 that took place at Marina Bay Sands, the 3 events saw a total of over 40,000 trade attendees of which 45% were from overseas.

Visitors thronged the show floor to source for the latest products / solutions.

Deals were sealed as exhibitors demonstrated the capabilities of their new products.

Business networks were forged as attendees mingled.

Enhanced Experience for Visitors

4K / UHD, TV Everywhere, IP Broadcasting, Professional Audio, Wireless Production were just some of the many key trending technologies showcased at the exhibition. Free value-added activities such as Producer Connect, Post I Production Hub, Innovation Hub, Broadcast IP Inter-OP Lab and many others further enhanced their experience to BroadcastAsia2017.

Around 51.5% of the trade visitors were from overseas; with a total of 22 group delegations from China, India, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Sri Lanka and Spain.

Producer Connect – the meeting place for film and content producers to brainstorm ideas and address major challenges and opportunities saw a full house attendance.

Visitors were able to have hands-on experience at Asia’s 1st Broadcast IP Inter-Op Lab.

Over at the Post| Production Hub, Ms Lim Ting Li, a sound designer and re-recording mixer, presented on the Sound Design behind ‘Apprentice’, one of the award-winning flims which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival.

A total of 633 international exhibitors from 48 countries / regions participated at BroadcastAsia2017 which spans across 3 levels of Suntec Singapore. This year also saw 13 group pavilions and 8 companies taking up the Hospitality Suites at Level 3.

A recap of BroadcastAsia 2017 International Conference

BroadacstAsia2017 International Conference saw knowledge exchanged as it provided an excellent platform for like-minded professionals to gather and share their vision and concerns for the broadcast and media industry.

This year, the emphasis was on “Gearing Up for the Future of Broadcasting” especially in the areas of OTT monetisation through VOD, IP broadcasting, 4K/UHD and The Use of Data Analytics in understanding what your viewers want.

Over 500 attendees and 80 speakers from around the globe were present and were overwhelmed by intensity of the conversations that were held over 3 days at Suntec Singapore. 2 main tracks (Commercial and Technologies) and 2 workshops on UHD and Data Analytics were crafted to address the needs of the industry.
